Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that Manchester City have made an offer for Real Madrid skipper and legend Raul. The Spanish striker is coming to the end of an illustrious career at Santiago Bernabeu, as all signs suggest that Florentino Perez’s return to the club would force Raul out.
In typical Manchester City fashion, the fees being discussed are astronomical. If you believe Marca, City are offering Raul a four year deal worth around £35 million. This recommendation comes from another over-priced Manchester City star – apparently Robinho, Raul’s former teammate at Real, personally recommended Raul to Manchester City.
While this may just be speculation at the moment, murmurs around the footballing world say that City have already been in contact with Raul’s agent. If true, and City can agree terms with the player, Real Madrid will be left with few options when Manchester City come calling.
Premiership Talk contacted Raul’s agent, Gines Carvajal, late Friday evening to confirm any contact from Manchester City. Stay tuned for any response received from him.
