Following Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Blackburn, Rafa Benitez couldn’t contain his obsession with Manchester United. As he has done so often this season, Rafa had something to say about United.
Like all of the other times, Benitez today said that the “pressure is on United.” I’m not sure about you, but I’m convinced that the Spaniard is obsessed with Manchester United. Time after time we’ve seen Rafa Benitez focus on United during his press conferences, while just down the road Sir Alex Ferguson has been laughing everything off and focusing on his own side. Since Rafa’s infamous tirade about United a few months ago, Liverpool have dropped off the top spot and now find themselves teetering on the edge of a Champions League exit.
Because of that, it’s hard to say that the pressure is on Manchester United. Even after a dismal start to the season, the Red Devils still find themselves atop the Premier League table. Pressure? I’m not sure United would want to be in any other position. Ferguson and his men also still find themselves with a great chance of progression to the Champions League semifinals – a luxury that probably won’t be afforded to Liverpool.
Rafa Benitez should really stop focusing on United and start focusing on each and every match for Liverpool. What was previously a convincing lead for Liverpool has been turned around, they were embarrassed at home by Chelsea in the Champions League, and a trophy-less season at Anfield is becoming increasingly more likely.
From now until May, Liverpool will need to rely on a Manchester United slip up while also maintaining their own form. United, on the other hand, hold their destiny in their own hands. Sir Alex Ferguson wouldn’t have it any other way.

I completely agree with you. He should be worrying about his own team and their future. Put the blinders on Rafa and get to work because you will win nothing if you focus too much attention on the competition. I don’t think any sane Liverpool fan would disagree with me. Don’t worry about opening your mouth every 2 seconds, let your play on the pitch speak for itself.
