carlos-tevez-fa-cupCarlos Tevez is on a mission to show why Manchester United should keep him. For the entire season Tevez has barely been proving his worth. He is a solid player, there is no denying that, but is he really worth the £32 million that United would have to pay to keep him? That debate has been raging among fans across the globe. This past weekend though, Tevez showed everybody one example of what he can do for a team.

It happened in the FA Cup quarterfinals against Fulham. Many people were talking – Sir Alex Ferguson included – that this may be the competition that United would have been knocked out of this past Saturday. Ferguson mentioned that Fulham could really come out and surprise them.

Tevez and the rest of the squad wanted to make sure that did not happen. Two first half goals from the United striker, and Manchester United were rolling to an easy 4-0 dismantling of Fulham. The first goal from Tevez was off of a perfectly placed corner kick to the back post where Tevez was waiting to knock it in. His second was the best play of the night, where he got the ball around midfield, dribbled past all the defenders and launched a knuckling ball from the left side of the pitch into the upper right-hand corner of the net from 20 yards out.

His display for United was beautiful, and it translated into a great performance from the rest of his teammates. The second half saw two more United goals. Tevez was the spark plug that United needed to overcome the murmurs that United may be knocked out by Fulham. That is exactly why Carlos Tevez is the week’s Premiership Talk Wednesday Wonder.
