kenwyne-jones1 All of the transfer speculation is over – at least for one footballer. Kenwyne Jones ended all of the rumors that he could be moving on to Tottenham by signing a new four-and-a-half year deal to remain at the Stadium of Light. Should the deal have gone through with Tottenham, it was presumed that Darren Bent would be swapping places with Jones.

Jones would have been a nice addition to a team that – as we all know – has not been performing at their best this season. They are still locked in a relegation battle, even though Harry Redknapp seemed to have fixed that problem once he took over the reins at the club. Alas, the honeymoon period with Redknapp is over already, and it looks as though Tottenham’s relegation battle will continue.

Adding Jones to the lineup would have been exciting for Premier League fans, so they could see Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, and Jones all working together to score fantastic goals. But as we all now know, that rumor bubble has been popped.
