Jimmy BullardWith this month’s transfer window full of lots of talk and little action, Phil Brown and Hull have quietly been going about their business. Hull, who were top of the table at one point this season, have finally hit a rough patch of form and have slowly been moving down the table. The Tigers now sit just six points above the relegation zone.

To combat this, former Fulham and Wigan midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been brought to the KC Stadium in a bargain £5 million deal. Bullard is a beloved figure amongst the Craven Cottage faithful, and his move to Hull comes at the despair of Fulham manager Roy Hodgson. Bullard has arguably been Fulham’s most influential player this season.

Hodgson had this to say: “It’s disappointing to lose Jimmy. We said all along that we’d like to keep all of our players but the possibility of Jimmy leaving has been there all the time.

“He’s been seeking the type of contract we couldn’t give him. I congratulate Hull and Jimmy on getting the contract he wanted.

“It wasn’t just wage demands prompting Jimmy to go, but the length of contract too.

“He’s 31 this year and we didn’t feel able to provide him with the contract he wanted. The transfer fee that has been negotiated is suitable for a player of his age. I thank Jimmy for the year of work he did under me.
