big-samThe man who has been linked with every vacant job available since his somewhat premature departure from Newcastle, Blackburn have today announced the big man as Paul Ince’s predecessor on a three year deal to the delight of the Rovers faithful.

Struggling Blackburn have wasted no time in appointing a new man at the helm, having sacked Paul Ince on Tuesday due to the club’s poor league position and reported lack of harmony in the dressing room under the ex-United man. The chairman made it known he wanted his man in in time for the crunch battle against Stoke City at Ewood Park this weekend, and hopes Allardyce can claw the club out of the dismal position Rovers find themselves in.

Despite accepting Blackburn’s offer today, it appeared that the Bolton hero was leading the race for the Sunderland job who are still searching for a manager. Newcastle were highly criticized for parting with the 54 year old, who had proven himself by establishing Wanderers in the topflight and even managed them to a European place.

Blackburn fans are now the latest to be gifted the opportunity of Sam Allardyce to work his magic on their club, a man who was once the favorite for the next England manager. But can he pull it off again? Can he replicate the success Rovers got familiar with under Mark Hughes? One thing is for certain, and that is that we will all see a new look Blackburn Rovers, and maybe with Big Sam’s strong links throughout the game, a whole new team come January if provided with the funds.
