Real Madrid love the spotlight. The glamor club of Spain is always entangled in transfer speculation, and president Ramon Calderon has started the rumor mill again.
“You want headlines and I’m going to give you them,” Calderon told Radio Marca. “We are going to make two good signings in the month of December. I don’t know their names because that is Mijatovic’s domain, but I know they are going to be young, quick, and will be able to play in the Champions League.
“We want them to be players who will stay for a long time, similar to Marcelo, Fernando Gago and Gonzalo Higuain.”
The most heavily linked players to the Spanish club are Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar (Ajax) and Mauro Zarate (Italy). The club are short of strikers following the long-term injury of Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Huntelaar has always been touted as the new van Nistelrooy. This speculation quashes the rumors that Real are interested in 33 year old Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo.
Furthermore, Calderon went on to promise that there will be “three world class signings” in “May or June.” No word on who, but there’s no doubting that Manchester United fans are a bit concerned.
