Blackburn Rovers are considering a double swoop of Valencia’s Joaquin and Nikola Zigic. These two additions would greatly improve Paul Ince’s side as they aim to replace the departed David Bentley (and possibly Roque Santa Cruz if he leaves).
For those of you that aren’t familiar with these two players, you soon will be. Joaquin was once touted the greatest young winger in the world. His career hasn’t taken off as planned, but he is still a regular in the Spanish national side, ahead of the likes of Mikel Arteta in the pecking order. Joaquin, the 28 year old, would be available for around £9 million – an excellent piece of business in my book.
Nikola Zigic, on the other hand, has made splashes around the world for a while now due to his size. The 6’8 striker puts Peter Crouch to shame in the height department. And, he’s actually good in the air. Zigic has been bouncing around the world of football for a while, and Blackburn are considering taking him on a season long loan. He would be a great option for any club outside the big four and I’m sure he could become a cult hero at Ewood Park.
