Sunderland Close to First Signing
Roy Keane looks set to make his first signing of the summer. Stephen Hunt, an Ireland international, looks like he'll be on his way to the Black Cats this summer after having a move blocked in January. With Reading relegated, Hunt will be ecstatic to jump straight back into the Premier League. We'll see if this move becomes official within the next few weeks.
The next question surrounding Roy Keane and Sunderland is which striker they will sign. Rumors are floating around that Keane is negotiating with Reading over another player - Kevin Doyle. This supports claims that Roy Keane and chairman Niall Quinn want to sign Irish players. If it isn't Doyle heading towards The Stadium of Light then it may still be Darren Bent if Sunderland can come up with the cash.
