Fabregas - Troubling Role with Spain  | read this item

Fans of Arsenal and fans of Spain have always known different versions of Cesc Fabregas. For Arsenal, Fabregas is a talisman, a midfielder who is the focal point of every attack. His qualities are never questioned in the Premiership and his skills are always feared. For Spain, however, it’s been a much different story. Finally, Cesc has spoken today about how different of a role his Spanish one is. “At Arsenal there is only one channel between the defence and attack and that is me, so I’m involved in practically all the attacks, but here there are more variations, more ways of attacking.” Only a few days before his nation’s opening match against Russia, the question remains whether or not Cesc will be in the starting eleven. With Spain’s midfield full of talent, will Fabregas be able to handle this other role of being a midfielder instead of the midfielder?

Leave some comments – would you build the team around Cesc in the way Arsenal does? Is it worth isolating players like Xavi so that Cesc can run the show? Without Cesc does Spain look as strong?
